3-D DLP HDTV

By admin | January 24, 2010

3D is an exciting new market for home theater. For some dramatic film or soap opera, 3D might seem out of place. But for sports, action movies, etc. 3D makes much difference, as the color from black and white. And the new 3D technology is best for the 3D system used in the theater.

The commercial successes of recent 3D films like "Beowulf," the "Robin" Meet and "Journey to the Center of the Earth", is generating interest with the company for the production of filmsOther material 3D. Disney, Universal, Philips, Samsung, Sony, Thomson and IMAX are currently exploring the possibility of 3D HDTV market. Disney said it will start all its computer-animated films in 3D. According to Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenburg, all major studios have 3D projects in the corridor. There will be more than 2500 theater screens equipped with 3D digital technology by the end of 2009. All content will be available in the market home theater. The big question:3D market, penetrating enough for large networks, particularly sports collection, distribution and in 3D?

3D Distribution

Probably be the satellite-television companies like DirecTV and Dish Network to distribute the 3D version of HDTV programs first. 3D movies have been using the same bandwidth, like the other 120 fps (frames per second) high-definition movies. The satellite companies do not have enough bandwidth to support niche markets broadcast (cable companies do not have), and now3D HDTV is a niche market.

"Satellite will be forced to not so much on how many channels can endure as it can get," said Bob Schermann, Satellite Business News.

In 2010, estimates that 60% of TV receivers in the United States, a satellite signal, a maximum of 15% in 2002 to be used.

3D HDTV Home Theater Systems

Because of the high frame rate for 3D, and the need for synchronization, the LCD monitors are generally in conflict with an advanced 3D.However, there are prototypes shown by Phillips upwards of $ 20,000, and this technique does not require glasses. Phillips-optic technology is very complicated. In contrast to electronics, one can not assume that the price will drop.

By the end of this year (2008), more than one million 3D-ready DLP HDTV, produced by Mitsubishi and Siemens, will be sold upon the technology works by providing a signal of 60 Hz for each eye (equivalent to 120 Hz maximum) .These devices can display HDTV standard and is compatible with 3D material. Some sources of material available for download, 3D and Blu-ray discs are still available. "Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" was the first 3D Blu-ray.

The Brill: Field Sequential 3D

Special glasses are used with DLP 3D system. The system is called "Field Sequential 3D" or HQFS (High Quality Field Sequential). This technology uses electronic shutter glassesInstead of red-blue glasses that we use for movies. The effect is much better. Our eyes see a vision of a little 'offset of a scene. The two slightly different views are combined with the brain, resulting in our ability to see in 3D. Field Sequential 3D repeat this experience with shutter glasses. The shutter is not mechanical, but instead of a liquid crystal filter that blocks the view, when the opposite eye is shown.

An HDTV with 120 Hz refresh rate is recommended for viewing in 3D. The3D system uses half of the total data for each eye. If we have a television with a total of 60 Hz refresh rate, this would mean only 30 Hz for each eye, and there will be no visible refresh rate (flicker).

When designing a 3D system with the previous 3D techniques, we have to choose whether to send two signals of equal bandwidth with complete data, effectively doubling the bandwidth of the signal and sends the signal, so that both the horizontal and vertical resolution halved, one half for eacheye. The doubling of bandwidth would be a problem, because the HDTV signal of bandwidth capacity is already at a premium. With the same bandwidth as non-3D-material means that the technology can be used with the current HDMI or DVI.

The alternative is to cut the decision uninteresting because we worked very hard to improve our system for high-definition, we do not want to move. Through the use of alternative structures for each eye, we see a high definition signal without flicker.

Two setswireless shutter glasses, with a control channel (infrared (IR), the same technology television with remote control) costs about $ 100.

"Hang-Ups" Holding up DLP

Many consumers have an attraction to the idea of hanging out of their new big screen HDTV on the wall like a painting. It is interesting to note that the majority of LCD and plasma screen TV's biggest ever mounted on the wall to get there. This is a great challenge to lift something that weighs 60-150 pounds on the wall, and wheninstalled, is an ongoing challenge for the interview (for example, a 50-inch Pioneer PDP-5070HD weighs 128 pounds).

According to NPD Group, only 13 percent of current LCD TV owners and 25 percent of the owners of plasma TVs have their own sets mounted on the wall.

DLP is very popular among those who want to expand high-quality monitors at affordable prices. For the money, easy DLP offer the best quality, higher value. An LCD of that size and price, will notquality of a DLP. DLP is also available in screen sizes larger or LCD television.

But a rear projection DLP TV is a few inches thick compared to a LCD or plasma. LCDs are typically 7-10 cm thick; September DLP are typically 12-17 cm thick. Because of the growing fascination with them sitting on a wall that separates him from a few inches will be the deciding factor for many consumers purchasing decisions.

Texas Instruments DLP chip that produces in a foundry inSouth Korea renewed so that the potential for technology that uses tiny mirrors on a semi-conductor. The new LED Light Engine named "Phlatlight" (manufactured by Luminus) the position of the arc lamp and color wheel design of previous DLP HDTV. Samsung already owned by them, the LED lamp for a few years. LED Light Engine will rarely be replaced (in contrast to the cold cathode lamps be replaced every year).

DLP HDTV with an LED light enginemore energy efficient as comparable businesses flat-panel display, and the lack of a moving color wheel design means that place with less noise. The DLP chip is faster than any other HDTV technology, with mirrors and closed more than 15,000 times per second to provide an image without blurring of fast-moving images like sports.

DLP HDTV set is a very smart choice for most people, but selectively. Many HDTV sets in stores are not yet importanttechnologies like LED backlighting.

Compatibility of 3D television could be looking for input on the back of the device can be tracked, labeled "3D Ready".

Home Theater Personal Computer (HTPC)

A major trend in home theater is the integration of the personal computer (PC) with the home theater. Integrating a PC in your entertainment center has many advantages, in addition to providing 3D video. Downloading movies is one of the benefits. The HTPC must haveA graphics card with DVI (Digital Video Interface). Both XP and Vista will support Microsoft products for home theater.

HDTV and 3D video-intensive computations, which means that a high-performance computing. For the 720p video, is a dual-core chip needed, 1080p or 1080i video requires a quad-core processor for smooth playback. Video files are very large (!) I know that the larger the disc, the better.

DirectX 9 graphics drivers (software) must be installed ifis not already present. Locate the current version, click on "Start" then "Run" in Windows. Type "dxdiag" in "Run" box.

The software is available from several suppliers, "Stereo Player" (version 1.3.4) from 3DTV.at available. Buy Stereo player is about $ 50. While still in 3DTV.AT also download GPL MPEG-1 / 2 Decoder. Alternatives to the player includes Stereo Dynamic Digital Depth (ddd.com), "Stereo Player" and "TridefVisualizer.

Review

3D technology has been a major force in Hollywood. It is likely that this trend will be repeated at home. CRT and DLP works better with the 3D technology, though plasma systems are also available. DLP offers a better relationship with big-screen HDTV, not just 3D HDTV.
